Thekkady
(Periyar Tiger Reserve):
Established in 1934 as Nellikkampatty wild life sanctuary; the area was declared a project Tiger reserve in 1978 and it was notified as a national park. India is the only country, which protects the five big wild cats of the world namely, the Lion, the Tiger, the Leopard, The Snow Leopard and lauded Leopard; Periyar Tiger reserve in Thekkady is the one, which is the favourite haunt of European tourists.

Thekkady, is the largest and also the best known wild life sanctuary in Kerala. Spread across 777 sq. Km. of which 360sq. Km. is the ever green forest, the sanctuary is noted for its geomorphology, diversity of wild life and scenic beauty. This is the only sanctuary in India where you can have the unique experience of viewing wild life at close quarters from the safety of a boat on the lake.
Vagamon
It is a very ideal tourist spot surrounded by the greenery of tea gardens, beautiful meadows, deep puzzling valleys and dales. The enchanting hill station dotted with tea gardens will soon be one of India's foremost eco-tourism projects.
Vagamon 64 kms. from Kottayam and 34 kms. from Pala situated at an elevation of 1100 metres above sea level is a trekker's paradise.

Munnar One of the most popular hill stations in India, is situated at the confluence of three mountain streams - Mudrapuzha, Nallathanni and Kundala. This shirine of St. Mary is a famous pilgrim center located very closely, to the Resort.
The consecrated here is brought from the famous '' Velakanni mother Church'' at Velakanni
in Tamil Nadu.
The Three Ancient Royal Palaces in Kuttikanam
There were the holiday homes of the Maharaja of Travancore. During the summer seasons the King ruled Travancore residing in these summer palaces. It is 12 kilometers from High valley Resorts
Kurusumala Ashram
This is a Christian Pilgrimage Center and a Monastery. The large prayer Hall here is used for prayer and meditation. Attached to it here are a few spectacular Diary Farms.

Idukki Arch Dam
This is world second and Asia first arch dam, constructed across the Kuravan and Kurathi hills. Idukki wild life sanctuary is located very near to it. Rich in wild life-Elephant, Bison, Sambar Deer, Wild Dog, Jungle Cat, Black Bulbul, Woodpecker, King Fisher etc.
Peermade
Peermade was the hub of British tea trade during the colonial period. The remnants of
the colonial rule and European buildings made this spot historically important. It is 7 kilometers away from the Resort
Mangala Devi
Temple
This ancient temple is hidden in the dense forest at top of a peak 1337 meters above sea level. The temple is built in the traditional Kerala style of architecture. Visitors are allowed here only on Chithra Pournami festival day.
Parumthupara Suicide Point
From the steep rocky ledge-ten kilometers from High Valley Resorts is the most attractive spot in the High-ranges. Trekking to this mountain will be an enchanting experience.
At far distances you can see the Makara
Vilakku, the Holy- lamp during festival season. It is a calm and quite place where you can experience cool and fresh breeze.
